Munazara (Debate) Workshop

To build real expertise in the discipline of debate (Munazara) and to shape capable defenders against every deviant sect, this Jamia holds a debate event for its students once or twice a year. Students from Jamat-e-Panjum through Dawra-e-Hadith may take part, selected by the debate coordinator (Nazim-e-Munazara). Contemporary, contested subjects generally take precedence as topics for this event, and at times issues on which the great Imams themselves differed are also assigned. Participating students, divided into two groups, spend a full two to three months in preparation before presenting fact- and theory-based arguments at the event. Those who present sound evidence, correct information, and adequate answers to every question from the opposing side earn the fortune of victory. The Jamia's teaching staff, the whole student body, and learned scholars from the surrounding area attend this debate event.
