Hifzul Qur'an Department
The importance and standing of Hifzul Qur'an (memorising the Qur'an) is as clear as daylight to everyone. For a learned scholar, the importance of Hifzul Qur'an is immense. To carry this service forward with ever-greater excellence and reach, this Jamia has run its Hifz department for nearly 70 years. Thousands of students from Bangladesh's cities, towns, and remote areas have studied in this Hifz department and now serve the memorisation and teaching of the Qur'an across many countries of the world.
Features and rules of this department
1. Run by highly skilled Hafiz teachers.
2. Both paid and free arrangements are available, with the same standard of teaching in either case.
3. Students are given the opportunity to begin Hifz only after reading the Qur'an correctly (Nazera) with full accuracy.
4. Special arrangements are in place to perfect a student's Nazera reading.
5. If a student makes two or more mistakes while reciting a lesson, they are not advanced further.
6. Every day after Fajr, students must recite their day's new portion (sabaq) without fail.
7. Every day after Zuhr, students must recite recent revision (amukhta).
8. Every Thursday, each student must recite the week's cumulative revision (sabina).
9. Graduating Hafiz students must recite the entire Qur'an in a single sitting as a requirement.
10. Dawr-level students must recite their day's lessons again during Tahajjud prayer in the last part of the night.
11. After each day's recitation, students must obtain their own teacher's signature in the report register.
12. No teacher is permitted to have more than 15 students.
13. Every day, at least one hour of tajweed practice (mashq) is conducted under a skilled teacher.
14. For the sake of conduct, character, and moral formation, one hour is spent each day before sleep on religious instruction and discussion of essential rulings.
15. No student over the age of 10-12 is admitted to the Hifz section.
16. No student is granted leave except through their own guardian.
